Join Us In Celebrating International Credit Union Day

On Thursday, October 17th, 2013, credit unions in 100 countries will celebrate International Credit Union Day. It is a day to proudly recognize the hard work of those working in the credit union industry and to how appreciation for credit union members. Credit unions continue to demonstrate their ability to improve the lives of individuals, families, communities and countries around the world.

Bringing Credit Unions Together

Since 1948, International Credit Union Day has been celebrated annually on the third Thursday of October. This year’s theme is “Credit Unions Unite for Good: A Better Way.” Each year, the international event gives the opportunity to remember credit unions’ proud history and promote awareness of and support for the credit union initiative.

Not-for-profit Means You Profit

Credit Unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives that aim to serve their members, providing a secure place to save money and access affordable loans. Credit unions all over the world are a united industry focused on you, the members. That’s why, at a credit union, you are never just a number—you are a member, and they exist to serve you.
